What I liked most about the story is made of mostly dialogues, so it is easy to imagine the scenes as if we were in a movie. The story flows nicely, even though it felt a little bit long as it is diluted in dialogues, however, it is divided into two distinct parts.

The choice of writing the story in, mainly, conversations, allows not to have only one character written in the first person, so having only one point of view and to feel every character the same way, so that anyone can identify themselves with any of the characters.

The talking bear reminded me of the movie Ted at the beginning, so I was a bit scared; instead, the bear brought another dimension to a story that could have been simple as his humour and honesty helps give another perspective to the different topics brought forth.

The work is well-balanced and has a good rhythm, not developing too slow or too fast, to conclude in neither of those fashions. For those who like love stories, this novel is an interesting read without being repetitive or a “copy and paste” of every other love story out there that aren’t believable or exaggerated; this one feels delicate, sweet, and real but also colourful thanks to some of the “side” characters who give some lightness to the story.

What stood out for me the most about the book was the extensive and imaginative world-making. I was very impressed by how clearly defined and diverse the environment, culture, and history were constructed.

The more psychological elements paired with the more humanized themes made the reading entertaining and fresh. The main character was characterized in such a way that the reader is able to identify its motives, backstory, and feelings.

Although some phrase and dialogue restructuring, as well as a bit more editing, might be advisable, I did not find any filler pieces or narratives, and I did not feel dragged along. All in all, an interesting story with a lot of potential
